Language Laboratories Should Be Used Effectively
The chief drawback (缺陷) of oral interview tests (口试) is the time which is needed. Each student must be tested individually (个别地),and even a short test which takes only five or 10 minutes becomes very time-consuming (费时的) when given separately to 30 students.
The use of a language makes it possible to give oral tests to a large number of students in a short time. But it would be foolish to claim (声称) that a speaking test using pre-recorded (事先录音的.)material could ever be superior (优于) to a genuine (真正的) face-to-face interview.
Nevertheless,for certain limited purposes,a language laboratory can offer a means of encouraging students to speak English and to become accustomed to responding (回答) various questions which may possibly arise (出现) in real life.
Examples will be given in this section of the types of oral exercises and activities for use in the language laboratory.

上课前，Meggle都会在我们男生和女生中间画一条界线。把我们男女生分成两组。接着在黑板上画两个圆圈，在里面画一些爱心，然后在下面画几条横线，分成两半，一半是男生的，一半是女生的。每组的任何一个人只要答对一个问题就可以把自己那组的磁铁往上移一层，当移到最上边那条线的时候就可以擦掉对方的一颗爱心，到最后哪一方的爱心少，那么那一方就算输了。
开始上课了，Meggle像变戏法一样变出了张图片，上面画着一家医院，Meggle说“这是什么？”“这是医院。”Meggle的第一个问题被我们组的队员抢答了。“那么你们知不知道它的英语怎么拼？”“h——o——s——p——i——t——a——l。”这次却被男生抢答了。Meggle又指着书说：“谁能用英语说hospital在什么地方？”我把手举得高高的，Meggle请了我，我说：“It is beside the shop。”接着Meggle又用这种方法教会了我们flat、park、等单词。
接着Meggle又给我们讲了一个生动有趣的小故事：有一天，Maskman想象自己打败了狗怪兽，变成了超级英雄。然后Maskman又吓唬Monty说：“你后面有只猫怪兽！”Monty信以为真，可是当自己转过去时，却发现原来Maskman在骗自己。Monty就对Maskman说：“你身后有只狗。”Maskman转身一看，真的有只狗，吓得赶紧逃跑了。听完这个故事后，我们都哈哈大笑。

The coup date was the fifteenth night of the eighth month.When the people cut open the cakes and found the message, they set out on that appointed day to overthrow the Mongols, thus ending the Yuan dynasty.
Today, far from exotic and heroic deeds, Chinese communities all over the world make and eat mooncakes during the traditional Harvest Moon Festival to honor this tradition.
